RecipeMode Privacy Policy

RecipeMode is a Chrome extension published by Caspian Technology Group. This policy explains what data the extension does and does not handle.

The short version

RecipeMode does not collect, store on our servers, transmit, share, or sell any personal data. There are no accounts and no analytics. The extension runs entirely on your own device.

What the extension accesses

• Recipe page content. When you click the RecipeMode icon on a page, the extension reads that page's text in order to build the clean Cook Mode view. This processing happens locally in your browser and the content is never sent anywhere.
• Locally saved recipes. If you save a recipe, it is stored using your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local) on your device. It is not synced to us or to any third party.
• Clipboard. When you use the "copy ingredients" feature, the ingredient list is written to your clipboard at your request. RecipeMode never reads your clipboard.

What we do NOT do

• We do not run any server or send your data off your device.
• We do not use cookies, analytics, or tracking of any kind.
• We do not require an account or any sign-in.
• We do not sell or share data, because we do not collect any.

Permissions

RecipeMode requests only the permissions needed to function: activeTab (to act on the page when you click the icon), storage (to save recipes locally), and clipboardWrite (to copy ingredients on request). It requests access to all sites because recipes can appear on any website, but it only activates when you choose to use it.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new "last updated" date.
