Information used on your device
SofaPilot stores your saved TV names, local network addresses (including TV-reported MAC addresses used for wake), settings, and favorite TV apps on your device. Pairing credentials and certificate fingerprints are stored in the device Keychain. The app and its widget extension share the information needed to display your TVs and send your requested commands.
SofaPilot uses local-network access to discover and connect to compatible televisions. Pairing requests and remote-control commands go directly to the selected TV over your local network. Some TV protocols use unencrypted local connections. Your TV manufacturer’s software and services are governed by that manufacturer’s privacy policy.
Keyboard text is sent directly to the selected TV only when you choose Send. SofaPilot does not save text history, log typed text, or share it with its widgets. Drafts are cleared when the keyboard sheet closes, the selected TV changes/disconnects, or the app leaves the foreground. The TV and the app receiving your text handle it under their own privacy policies.
Collection and sharing
SofaPilot has no developer-operated backend, advertising, tracking SDK, or analytics service. The app does not send your saved TV details or pairing credentials to Caspian Technology Group LLC. It does not require an account, microphone access, or location permission.
If you contact us by email, we receive the information you choose to include and use it to respond and troubleshoot. Do not send TV pairing codes or credentials.
Apple processes App Store purchases under its own terms and privacy policy. SofaPilot does not receive your payment card details. When you use Apple’s TestFlight, Apple may collect and share beta feedback, screenshots, crash reports, and diagnostic information according to Apple’s TestFlight terms and privacy information. This is separate from SofaPilot’s local TV communication.
Your choices
You can revoke Local Network permission in your device’s Settings. Removing a saved TV in SofaPilot deletes that TV’s saved pairing secrets. Remove saved TVs before uninstalling if you want those Keychain credentials deleted.

Connection diagnostics
Connection checks contact only the saved TV address. Diagnostic reports are generated locally and shared only when you choose Share and a destination. Reports include app version, TV family, and connection-check results, but exclude TV names, IP/MAC addresses, pairing credentials, raw TV responses, and typed text.
